16 String Baby Guzheng (80cm)
At only 2’8” (80cm), this “Baby” Guzheng punches way above its weight in terms of its tones and resonance. With its high and middle registers able to fully replicate the full resonance of the full sized guzhengs , and its lower strings still capable to sounding decent, we see some performers perform with it when performing for gigues that have tight set up schedules.
The secret to its sound lies in its soundboard, which is a fully carved board, resulting in resonances that is not encumbered by sound posts and support frames inside the guzheng. As a result, the entire instrument fully resonates when played.
The side panels and baseboard of the guzheng is made of tempered acrylic that comes in colors – Fiery Red, Starry White, Emerald Green, Golden Amber and Aquamarine Blue . The acrylic panels reflects the sound resulting in the instruments nuance4s timbres that mimics that of very high end guzhengs.
The cherry on top of the pie, is that this guzheng weighs just 4KG (under 10lbs) in a gig-bag and can be played on the lap. It can be brought to anywhere the musician wishes, and can be placed in the overheard baggage compartment of most airlines.
